Is It True That a Huge Study Revealed That Women Who Take Vitamins Die Younger?
Yes, it is true… the research study was huge… 38,000 women participated in the study. There are a few details that the media forgot to report about in this story.
The overwhelming numbers of women in this study were using synthetic vitamin and mineral isolates. How do we know that? Because 99.9% of all the vitamins sold in your health food stores, grocery stores or big box stores are synthetics. Well meaning chemists through the decades have determined “what they believe” to be the “active” ingredient of natural vitamins and then they have sought cheaper and cheaper methods of producing them. If you buy vitamins at the stores we have already mentioned they were either produced by genetically modified bacteria in a laboratory or as derivatives of coal tar from the petroleum industry. Then these chemists mix all these synthetic isolates together in a large batch to produce a vitamin. Are these really nutrients that the body can use? No, synthetic vitamins do not perform the same functions in your body as vitamins found naturally in whole food. Look at the pictures of Vitamin C… the synthetic is missing all the natural parts. The synthetic is just a shell. Synthetic = fake. In fact, many synthetic vitamins deplete your body of other nutrients and tax your kidneys before being excreted through your urine.
Could Synthetic Vitamins Cause Harm or Shorten Your Life Span?
You bet they could… the 2011 study we have already mentioned clearly shows that. But wait… there’s more…
Another 2011 study revealed that men who took high doses of synthetic vitamin E had a 17% higher risk of prostate cancer.
In a 2000 study researchers from the Institute for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention found that of the 573 men and women studied those who regularly took vitamin C pills as Ascorbic Acid alone developed an inner artery wall layer 2.5 times thicker than that of people who did not take synthetic supplements. That’s a recipe for a cardiovascular disaster!
I Know That I Need Vitamins and Minerals. How Do I Make Sure That They Are Not Doing Harm?
Use only vitamin products that are whole foods, whole food concentrates or whole food complexes.
